What We Believe
Rooted in the Word. Grounded in Truth. Living by Faith.
At Tullos United Pentecostal Church, our faith is more than something we profess on Sunday mornings. It's the foundation of who we are, how we live, and why we do what we do.
We are an Apostolic Pentecostal church with a heart for God, a love for people, and a desire to see lives forever changed by the power of Jesus Christ. Whether you've grown up in an Apostolic church, are returning after years away, or are searching for answers, there is a place for you here.
What Does Apostolic Mean?
Being Apostolic means following the teachings of Jesus Christ and His apostles as recorded in the New Testament. We believe the message preached by Peter on the Day of Pentecost is the same message the church should proclaim today. God's Word—not changing opinions—is our authority.
Ephesians 2:20 (KJV)
What Does Pentecostal Mean?
The term Pentecostal points to the Day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2, when God poured out His Spirit upon believers. We believe that same Holy Ghost experience is available today. We believe in Spirit-filled worship, the power of prayer, divine healing, and the work of God in everyday lives.
Acts 2:1–4; Acts 2:39 (KJV)
The Apostolic Message
At the center of our faith is Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection. We believe the biblical response to the Gospel includes repentance, water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:38 (KJV)
